You just cannot go wrong with any type of stone bowl to accessorize with. Old and carved are the best--you get nature, texture, and interest in one item.

Shuttle Atlantis Rocket Boosters: Up Close and Personal
In commemoration of the landing of the Space Shuttle Atlantis this morning, here are some shots I was able to take while watching the solid rocket boosters being towed in after the launch. It was a very special occasion. Congratulations to the Atlantis crew for a successful mission, and WELCOME HOME!!!!

Shuttle Atlantis: Last Launch
Photo: Stephen Clark, Spaceflight Now |
The last shuttle launch, Atlantis, 2011. I was not able to see the launch from this vantage point, but Stephen Clark of Spaceflight Now was. And, I must say, it is nice to have friends (and family) in high places--otherwise I would not have these incredible photos of the launch. I was in a Wendy's parking lot far, far away watching in awe. Words cannot describe the experience of watching the shuttle launch, not to mention, the last shuttle to launch. All I can say, is I was a proud American on that day...

Chillin' at Cocoa Beach, Florida
Redwings on stump |
I wish my 501's were a bit older--I would have loved to try a salt-water soak. I only have a couple of weeks wear in them after I picked them up from Stag in Austin. |
